trustedhisheart: (what is this)

[It had taken Tus some time after waking up to actually notice the journal and pick it up. Possibly because he was not only wondering how he came to be in this place, but how he came to be anywhere at all. He was reasonably sure he remembered dying.

The only explanation was that the dagger was involved, of course. His first thought was that Dastan had activated it, but then, why did he remember? He must have activated it himself, without entirely meaning to.

He turns his attention to the journal, reading the note, and isn't aware that he's activated the audio function.]

This cannot be possible. The world itself, undone? Can you go back so far in time, as to stop the very world from existing? Is this the consequence of-

[He cuts off. It will do no good, sitting here and speculating. He must find Dastan, and the dagger. He must find Nizam, and put a stop to this. It is his duty to see that his kingdom is restored; no one else's.]

Whatever you have done, Nizam, I will stop you.

[Tus tucks the journal under his arm and heads out, determined to find those he's looking for, and a way out. He'll be moving from the barracks to outside, so feel free to run into him anywhere, if you don't mind likely not being able to understand anything he says. Or reply here?]

I have seen forces in this world, and others, that have no equal. However, I can understand your initial disbelief at my words.

[She pauses.]

I fear I still do not know who Nizam is, however it would seem that...yes. It is someone other than whom you speak of pulling the strings. In this case, it seems to be Lord Deior. Prior to my incarceration here in the Keep, it was a one Captain Redd.

Had they come but a few days ago, my disbelief would have been much greater. But I have recently realized there are many things beyond my understanding.

[He frowns at this.]

The one who has placed himself responsible for fixing what has gone wrong? I cannot say I am surprised. His methods are certainly questionable.
From: [identity profile] scionofwisdom.livejournal.com
There are many more things beyond my realm of understanding, as well. You are not alone in this. [Even with all that Zelda has seen, she is still surprised every now and then.]

Yes. I do not trust him whatsoever. I have seen, and been involved with, a similar circumstance. I am not eager to trust a 'leader' or a 'staff' blindly.
From: [identity profile] trustedhisheart.livejournal.com
It is somewhat of a comfort to know I am in good company.

[He's starting to get that, no, this is not the book talking to him.]

Nor am I. I have myself been involved with circumstances that lead me to believe those who would claim to lead and guide you cannot always be trusted.

What do you mean by 'similar'?
From: [identity profile] scionofwisdom.livejournal.com
In times like these, it is sometimes a small comfort to know that others share in your circumstances, no matter how unfortunate they may be. [Misery loves company, as they say. Such a pessimistic view.]

At least until they have proven themselves otherwise. A good ruler does not rule with an iron first and harsh judgement. Wisdom is power.

...Prior to my residence here at the Keep, I was a passenger of an enormous vessel called the MS Elegante. The situation was much the same - I, along with many others - were pulled from our respective homes with the gilded promise that we were being 'saved' by the captain and his crew.

Before that, I was Princess Zelda of Hyrule - a kingdom that I have been told, on numerous occasions, no longer exists.

Yes. It is a pity, given the circumstances, but it does make one feel a sense of reassurance to know that others understand.

[And he smiles at her next words. He couldn't agree more.]

Spoken like one who is truly wise.

It is troubling to think there is more than one person operating with similar methods, holding people prisoner with such powerful magic.

[And yes, it only makes sense that she is a princess.]

It is a pleasure to meet you, princes. I am King Tus, of the Persian Empire - which I have been told no longer exists as well.
From: [identity profile] scionofwisdom.livejournal.com
Indeed. [There is an uplift in intonation that suggests the barest hint of a smile. She understands all to well just what, exactly, this feels like to be thrust suddenly into a place without recollection of how you arrived - and then to be told your world was 'unmade'?

I could not agree with you more. [While Captain Redd had not been the welder of the End's power, he certainly had magical capabilities that far outstripped her own. That in itself was deeply perplexing and concerning.

...King? Well.
]

It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty. [Zelda supposed that she ought to introduce herself as queen these days - it had been the even of her coronation that Zant had swept the castle after all - but after twenty years of being called 'Princess', the title has stuck.]

I am afraid that is not an Empire that I am familiar with, though I will wager you are unfamiliar with Hyrule.
From: [identity profile] trustedhisheart.livejournal.com
The honor is mine, princess, even under such an unfortunate situation as this.

[It is still a bit strange, hearing 'your majesty' instead of 'your highness.' There's been moments when he's not entirely sure he'll ever get used to it, but he sets them aside as quickly as possible. He must adjust to it.

He's momentarily taken aback - the Persian Empire is the largest in the world, after all - but what she says is true. He hasn't heard of her kingdom, there's no reason to expect she would have heard of his.]

I am not familiar with it, I fear. It must be a great land, with so wise a princess.
From: [identity profile] scionofwisdom.livejournal.com
Indeed; Hyrule is a beautiful country. [OR - was, as the case may be. Zelda is no longer sure. With her being whisked to the Keep, it seems that the End's reach did not extend as far as she had previously thought.

Perhaps Hyrule
could be made once more.

It was certainly something to think about, especially in relation to Ganondorf.

...Something to ponder.
]

Thank you, for your words. Persia is in good hands, with you as their King.
From: [identity profile] trustedhisheart.livejournal.com
It is indeed a pity I have not had occasion to see it, then.

[Perhaps he will have to look it up, once he manages to get out of here and put a stop to whoever is behind this, after he ensures Persia's safety.

He still has no doubt that this can be put right again. Persia is the greatest empire the world has known; it cannot end this way.

Her last words, however, make him smile. Even though he is not certain he believes them, it is very nice to hear.]

I can only hope it to be true, Your Highness. And I thank you, as well.
From: [identity profile] scionofwisdom.livejournal.com
Perhaps one day you shall. [It was hard to say - especially with the fact that so many people from so many worlds can be pulled and pushed together into a giant melting pot in the shape of a Keep. She supposed it was a possibility.]

If you have need of anything, please do not hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer any questions you might have.
From: [identity profile] trustedhisheart.livejournal.com
It is something I shall look forward to, then.

[And he will indeed. It's one of the things he enjoys most about his travels back home, the opportunity to see such beautiful lands.]

You are certainly most gracious, princess. You have my thanks, once again.
